Clip Conveyor
You need the Clip Conveyor if:
- You have to feed or remove clothes from a packaging machine or a finisher
- You need to distribute clothes
- You want to transport clothes from "A" to "B"
- You must send contaminated clothing through a monitor (Geiger counter), meaning you need to detect the contamination
The clip conveyor, also known as the separation conveyor, is a side-flexing conveyor using an endless chain as a traction mechanism. The clip conveyor is mainly used for transporting clothing.
A chain equipped with clips is used as a traction mechanism. The clips are spring-loaded hanger carriers that pull the hangers with clothing along a slide rail. If the clip encounters a clothes hanger, it is lifted and the carried part comes to a standstill. The part previously in the rest position is picked up by the next clip and taken along, i.e. transported. Upon encountering an accumulation group, the last part located in the conveying direction is always transported.
There are two types of Clip Conveyors:
1. “HORIZONTAL” Clip Conveyor and
2. “VERTICAL” Clip Conveyor
The designations “horizontal” and “vertical” indicate the position of the chain pins.
The “horizontal” clip conveyor can be used to travel through gradients and inclines as well as longer distances, because the chain runs in the articulated position. The articulated position of the chain is present if the links can be folded by 180°. With the “vertical” clip conveyor, the chain is turned 90° and thus so is the articulated position. In this chain position, horizontal curves and also longer distances can be traversed using a side arc chain. If there are gradients and horizontal curves in a conveying path, a special chain is required as a traction mechanism. However, the conveying lengths are then limited to approximately 20.0 m.
Both conveyors are characterised by their low-pressure accumulation of clothing. Several clips are mounted on the rotating chain for this purpose, depending on the required conveying capacity. With a clip allocation of 2 pieces per running metre of conveyor, the conveying capacity is 1,500 parts/h. By increasing the clip allocation, the hourly output of the conveyor can be increased to over 10,000 parts/h.
With the “horizontal” clip conveyor, the conveying and return chains are embedded one above the other in a special profile (horizontal chain pin), while with the “vertical” clip conveyor, the return chain is arranged on the rear side of the conveyor profile at the same height as that of the pulling chain. Automatic mounting, dismounting, and stopping of the clothes is guaranteed.
